March 25, 200917 yr Hi I'm just getting back on a trials bike after a long while off them, anyway I have been offered a 1996 Montesa 315R with only ten hours on it so it is pretty much like new and was wondering if this would be a good buy, would it still be able to keep up with the modern bikes or would it be off the pace? I'm going to ride at clubman level and not at a high standard, your thoughts would be appreciated.
March 25, 200917 yr Generally considered to be a better quality bike, which in the longer term / resale is important. Got a loan of a friends and ridden it twice, really impressed, cant fault it. Alot of brand loyalty on here, so you have to make the decision. Also depends on the price/condition.
March 25, 200917 yr my opinion... 1. a 315r with 10 hours use (???), at the right price it's a no brainer. 2. nothing in life is set in stone, if you don't get on with it, sell it on. 3. success in motorcycle trials, possibly more so than any other form of bikesport, is more dependant on rider ability than machine ability.
