May 6, 200917 yr My 04 beta 200 starts and runs fine untill you get past 3/4 throttle and then it starts missing i.e. 4 stroking and sounding like the choke is on, anything but crisp and correct. Ive cleaned out the carb, fitted new kill switch, check all electrical contacts but no joy. Any suggestions ?
May 6, 200917 yr My bikes doing the same thing but I took out the air filter and it revs more cleanly with more power. I think my main jet is too big but haven't had a chance to change it to find out. I would be interested to hear if this is the correct diagnosis. May 6, 200917 yr It's probably the CDI unit that's faulty. I had the same symptoms with my Beta 200 and was told it was either the CDI or the stator. I got the stator rewound first but no joy, then fitted a new CDI and it was fine. Call Lampkins, I'm pretty sure they will sell you a CDI unit on a sale or return so you can see if it solves the problem.
