Engine Temp,

Featured Replies

Whatever you do, from experience dont put water in there... just put 'cavatation' in the search box...

It should be ran with either pure coolant or a 50/50 mix, coolant and de-ionized water...

It should run pretty hot, I find a good test for engine temp is too hold your hand on the barrel and after AROUND 5 seconds it should begin to hurt!

The coolant should be getting controlled to about 100 degrees C by the fan stopping and starting. If the fan runs all the time, the motor will run too cold. If you can hold your bare hand on the outside of the barrel for more tham 10 seconds, the barrel is 50 degrees or cooler which is way too cold for a motor to be happy. It might perform OK, but it will wear out much faster than it would if running at a constant temperature.
