Gearbox Oil Seal

Hello there..

Any one got any tips for replacing the gearbox oil seal (the one behind the sprocket) on 125 pro?

I'm hoping it can be done from 'outside' the engine and that I don't need to split the cases to get at it.

I've had umpteen GasGases over the years (my 2 sons and I ride them) and this is the first time I've had one fail (its on a 2008 125 'Racing').

Many Thanks

Andy

Andy,

The sprocket seal can often be carefully levered out without splitting the cases. Jut be very careful not to scar the surfaces where the oil seal lips ride. A large, long socket can be used as a seal installer, just tap lightly and don't try to move it too much at a time so it goes in straight.
