99 Gasgas Contact Txt 270

Featured Replies

i have just bought a 99 txt 270, and the oil sight in the side of the gearbox seems to b leaking slightly, can i just unscrew it and replace the seal?? What size socket do i need? A 16mm is to small, and a 17 doesnt want to go down over it (i think the outside of the socket is hitting case), or is there a certain spanner i could use

COME ON MUN! Some1 must have changed the oil glass on the side of the gearbox???

right i modified a 17mm socket and it fits perfect. replace the oil sight and the copper washer, and it still seems to leak a tiny bit of oil, when left for a few hours. Anyone else had this problem????? i was thinking of using a fibre washer instead of copper to try and get a better seal, any suggestions???

No harm in trying? Howz about some thread sealer or PTFE tape as well?

Nah nah, wham some gasket sealent between the washer and sight, washer and case... should sort it out!
