Smokey Beta Zero

Featured Replies

Hi guy's, a friend of mine has a beta zero, 92 i think, and to say it smoke's is an understatement, it's like riding behind a smoke screen, it's a blueish colored smoke. He says she does not burn any gearbox oil ie the same comes out that he puts in also he says the air mixture screw in the carb makes no difference at all where its at whether it's screwed all the way in or out it and does not effect the running of the bike. any suggestions as to what may be making it smoke so badly. He's running it with 75ml of oil to 5 liter's of petrol.

all idea's welcome, he changed the small end gudgeon pin etc which he thought was responsible for the rattle it makes although it still rattles but he claims the rings and crank seals etc are in good order.

i hope if covered the basics for any idea's for a remedy.

Cheers, Steve

Hi proc, thanks for that, as i said all suggestions welcomed, he said that when he changed the small end he cleaned out the front pipe but she was still smoking straight away but saying that while we were out today he came off the back and actually snapped the silencer where it slips onto the expansion chamber, when we were repairing that, the exhaust packing was dripping with oil like it was saturated. Maybe changing that will help but she smokes from cold and all day long as though its something internally wrong.

Cheers

Steve
