Mh 123 - 1982 Blowing Bulbs - Help Please

Hi all

I am new here and need help with my MH 123 fitted with lights ex works - unfortunately when I fitted indicators it keeps blowing bulbs and on inspection I find that it is putting out 18volts!! not the 6volts as stated in handbook - Any ideas anyone please?

    Thanks Gordon - The only question that leaves is - is there any particular rating/type of regulator/diode to use? as I have the owners manual in about 5 languages( for what its worth!) and there is not one shown on the manual?
