Funny Noise

Featured Replies

hi guys hope someone can help....

my 06 beta 250 has started to make a "Funny" noise, when i put the revs on then snap the throttle shut it makes a metallic tinc, just once. it does it in every gear but not when i rev it with the clutch in. i know its hard to diagnose these things without hearing it but any ideas would be much appreciated.

Try mixing 50:50 race fuel, with pump gas, and see if it goes away. Most likely pre-detonation from not having a high enough octane fuel.

new spark plug and a thorough de-coke of the top end. that usually cures the problem. :D

So we all reckon it's pinking ; why not firstly just turn the air screw in a bit to see if it's just running weak?
