August 1, 200917 yr Hi all, Does anyone know if the 315 clutch plates from Haven are any good? Will they stop my clutch acting like an on-off switch? Or would I be better off going or one of the other options - i.e. apico, mitani, CR250?
August 1, 200917 yr Hi I tried them and didnt find them that much better. Had best results with standard plates and remove 2 (take out opposites) of the pressure springs and just run 4. The reduced pressure makes the clutch much easier to control and less on - off. The only downside is that you can get a little slippage at high throttle openings on the road and if wanting to be fast accross the moors. Worked for me for over 2 years with no real problems Chris
August 4, 200917 yr I used them many years ago and found them very good except sticking at start-up as alot of plates do unless you change the oil very regularly.
August 4, 200917 yr The haven friction plates definately made a difference but the Apico steel plates seemed to make more of a difference. Combination of those with PJ1 oil and I get a tiny bit of binding at the start of the day and after that its good to go everytime.

I finally got around to trying this today. What a difference it made! It's much smoother and it didn't feel like the bike was constantly fighting me. Not only is it less on-off, but it's lighter too - I completed todays trial without a hint of my usual clutch-finger-fade Thanks very much Christoff, that's saved me shelling out a load of cash on a new clutch
