Good Deal, Good Bike?

Featured Replies

I think I found the bike I am looking for, but want to make sure it is a good bike and a fair deal. What do you guys think?

"2005 Beta 270 Rev 3 trials motorcycle. Ridden lightly by amateur. No races/competitions. Recent carb work done and runs excellent. $2500"

Bike is six hours away is the only bad thing. Here are some pics, not sure how to make them bigger:

Well id do a couple of things first ..

Ask for half a dozen high quality close pics of the bike in good light so you can get a better idea of what condition its in ..

also when people say " lightly ridden " or " no comp use " sometimes means something is wrong with the bike ..

a good bike should speak for its self .. you can tell right away if you see rusted bolts etc if its worth your while

also make sure you can take it for a ride before you make hand over money for it

one last thing, you can see fuel on the floor near the stand I know most rev 3's with out mods do it but just check it isn't more than usual

Exactly what Scorpa4banger said,

Before you buy it check it through in every place you need to & make sure it is in good condition. have a test ride before you buy it, see if everything runs & works as it should do, as well get some better, clearer pictures if you can because if you are going to travel 6 hours for the bike you need to know what it looks like clearly.

Apart from that it looks an excellent example from the small pictures.

Cheers,

Ben.

I was too late. The bike sold in 2 days! Must have been a good deal.

I sold mine 05 Rev3 270 a couple months ago for $4250 and $600 for the tank seat. That price would have been a really good buy.
