Silicone Grease?

In the manual it says to put silicone grease between the main bearings and the crank seals, is this needed? Can it be a different kind of grease?

    not really sure where they are telling you what to grease, you need some kind of lube on the seal, I usually just use 2-cycle oil of good quality, I also oil the bearing liberally with the same
