South Western Centre

We come from the IOW and want to ride in S.W. centre trials next year, can anyone recomend a good club to join. Most of our lads ride in the British youth championships, and need more experiance on rocks and stream type sections. HELP. :(

You can join any club in the South West and still ride all the trials. One of the cheapest (

Which one of the clubs recomended would you say is the most enthusiastic towards youth riders, do thay send out regular programs and which ones run the hardest trials? On the Island our youth riders ride in the class according to there ablity because there is such a hugh differance between the national class rider and the average club youth. Our lads rode in the Tiverton centre trial last weekend and won every class, and the most any of them lost was four. :(

We tend to only get programs for National trials.

As a rule Lynton will always put on a good hard trial with streams as its core terrain. Mortonhampstead trials can also be resonably hard with mainly rocks. My son also rides nationals and this year will ride the hard route in the south west. Anything below centre championship may or may not be hard enough. But in general will be! Last Sundays trial was not the normal severity.

The torridge club members include

Ben Price

Kyle Jacobs

Alex Bland

Ross Hancock

Keelan Hancock

Ricky Wiggins & Blair Rodber are members of Yeo Vale club

At present these are the only youth riders who compete the national championships

Which ever club you join does not realy matter but if you intend to only rode selected SW trials you should enter the following trials:-

January

West of England Knill Trial SW Championship

Febuary

Exmoor SW Championship

May

Lyn Traders National

Torridge National

June

Torridge South West Masters

August

Brenda Lucketts 2 day trials school (

Thanks Dave 249 most helpfull, i have signed up for the SW centre gazette so we know whats going on. We will be trying to fit in all the trials that don't clash with the british championships, and the Y.M.S.A events that will allow C class riders to take part.

changing the subject completely , is it the iow charity trial this weekend ? if yes can we get cheap ferries?

The IOWMCC trial this Sunday is being run as a normal club trial, we had several proplems along the way, but everything is now being put in place for next year including the ferry sponsorship. If we expect people to come and ride on the island we have to make shore we put on somthing extra good so that thay will want to come back, we just

ran out of time with this years Charity trial so sorry.A deal has been reached with RED Funnel ferries who will be sponsoring the Wight Two day trial in april, the Sammy Miller round in September and The British youth A/B and C/D rounds in October. furthermore there will be a charity indoor trial on the night of the Two day trial, and a invitation youth indoor trial on the Saturday night of the A/B round with steve saunders helping as C of Course. Better to have no trial than a crap one. A. stay

agree, last years charity trial was quality, and the indoor was good as well .

Bit more challenging on the two day if poss !

The 2005 Two day trial will be run by the same wild bunch that put on last years Charity trial, the arena trial and the C/D national, so expect some big changes. You will not be disapointed with the 05 event, and the arena trial will be even bigger so spread the word.
