The bike i bought was sold to me as an 04 250 sherco im not entirely convined now because it says 03 series on the mudguard i know plastics can be replced but i just want to be more sure of what i've bought. can anyone tell me if you can tell the year of manufacture and enigine size from the chasis number. thanks in advance

But from your description it does look like an 03. the first couple of digits say 125 does that mean its 125? if it does im My 2.9 says "VNBS129TR" expect this means Sherco 2.9 trials. If yours says VNBS125TR, then maybe it is or was a 125, the motor numbers, top rear behind the output gear should verify. Mine is SH290*****!
September 21, 200916 yr I'd guess that 29 is 290 and 25 would be 250cc VNBS129TR3A0106** was a early 04 model, if that's of any help.
