What im wondering is is the a point to getting a newer bike ir should i just trash and get good on my 99 till i NEED a new bike rather than just wanting a newer bike?

Your right,very very, few riders need a new bike but loads of us want a new bike!

It's all down to you ,a case of holding back your desire for a new(er) steed.

Get an evo there great, some of the modern advances make riding just that little bit easier ie the evo turning circle really helps, i've noticed it comes in handy I know my scorpa's that i've ridden wouldn't quite turn as much as the evo does, also the advances over the Rev 3 are also really good, most of the annoying features of the rev 3 like the rear brake slave cylinder used to stick out and wear a hole in your boot have been rectified making riding just that little bit more enjoyable..

all depends on the wallet though new bikes are not cheap if your happy on your 99 though just stick with it ..
