November 24, 200916 yr hi i have a 99 315 and there is loads of play in front disc / bobbins i have measured them up and they seem all very similar but 1 mm clearance on every hole seems a bit much am i looking at new disc and bobbins thanks
November 25, 200916 yr I was worried about the play on mine when I got it so I bought some new bobbins from BVM. They've helped a bit but there's still quite a bit of play. I've stopped worrying about it because I only notice it if I'm in the garage doing a bit of balance practice - riding I never give it a thought.
November 25, 200916 yr Stick some silicon sealant around them before assembly and stops the rattle but allows the float
November 25, 200916 yr Standard play is listed in the owner's manual as .3 to 1 mm, with a service limit of 2mm - a lot. I had mine apart this spring and it looked like the disc wears as much as the bobbins; you may have to replace both if you want to make it quiet. That said the play shouldn't affect the brake performance, if anything too much play is better than none. Sam
November 25, 200916 yr Author thanks for the replies im gonna give the bobbins a go see what that does i had a husaberg supermoto a while ago and that had a lot of play on a berringer disc but i was never as subtle with that brake must spend less time being critical in the garage i think
