December 31, 200916 yr hello all, does any of you twinshokers out there run a tubeless michelin (with a tube) on the rear ?? i remember a few years ago i had a irc tubeless on the rear of a fantic and when you let the air out to 5psi it would break the bead and look like the wheel was buckled .i only ask as i have a new michelin in stock and my beamish needs a tyre. December 31, 200916 yr I've used tubless IRC's and Michelins on the back of my DRZ400 for LDT's with no problems. Just make sure you have a decent rim lock fitted.
January 1, 201016 yr Paul it depends on which tubeless tyre and which tube type rim. At low pressures, Dunlop tubeless rears wont stay in place on any tube type rim while Michelin XII tubeless and IRC tubeless will stay on some tube type rims but not others. Sorry I've not tried any tubeless tyres on Suzuki rims. Pete I suspect you might have had problems if you ran trials pressure in your DRZ400 rear David
January 1, 201016 yr Yes, I guess lower pressures might give problems. The DRZ is a heavy bike so I keep the rear at 5psi, that said I only drop to 4psi on the Scorpa.
January 1, 201016 yr I run a tubeless Michelin X11 on my 240 fantic without any problems but I agree it is worth having decent rim locks.
