Does anyone know if he is still riding or involved with trials ?

I haven't heard of him for many years, haven't seen his name mentioned in any press reports and such, mind you he must be well into his 60's by now. Rode Greeves then Montesa around the time of the Don DR Smith era!

Thanks for that John, shame he's not still "in the game" so to speak. You of all people would know !

Reason I ask is the mk2 247 Cota I have has a number plate within a few digits of the one he rode in the Montesa team for the 1970 scottish. Both bikes were registered by Stuart Wiggins Motorcycles locally to me.I'm starting the process of trying to get a log book for my bike with its original number, and I noticed from Don Morley's book how close the number is.The Wiltshire records office has details of both bikes which I'm going to see on Saturday,I'd really like to find out more about my bike and if it was used by by of the supported riders as it was registered to the shop rather than a private owner.Anyone with any pointers as to who to get to help with persuading the DVLA to reallocate the number would be very gratefully received.BTW Mr Telling has 5 different numbers of Montesa's against his name in the list - he must have been a good rider in his time.

JonV8...

PM me the number, I might be able to shed some light... worth a try!
