May 17, 201016 yr Hi, I hope someone can help! I have a 1980 Cota 200, the kickstart works fine but when you manually turn the flywheel the kick mechanism can be heard to ratchet on the pawl. I have removed the cover and cant see anything missing or amis! Has any one else got one and is this normal? The bike starts and runs great. Any advice would be gratefully received. Thanks.
May 20, 201016 yr sounds like it's not disengauging the kick gear, is the kick start lever clocked wrong? sounds like you may be a tooth or two off on the kick shaft spline, not letting the kick shaft return far enough, can quite remember how these are made, been too long since I looked inside mine
