June 8, 201016 yr i have a slight rattle from the top of the barel and it gets quicker when i rev it could it be the tappets needing adjusted? can any one tell me a easy way to do this or some tips on doing it? i.e how do i know that it is at the top end of the compresion stroke? how can i most accuratly adjust them? any help please
June 8, 201016 yr The manual covers this (and everything else) very comprehensively. Take off the valve covers and the oil fill cap Rotate the crankshaft 'till the T mark on the flywheel lines up with the reference mark in the oil fill hole Check that the engine is on its compression stroke i.e. both rockers are loose, if not, rotate crankshaft through 360
June 9, 201016 yr Author i have a user maual but the settings are difrent to 5 and 12 they are more like 12 inlets and 20 exhaust would that be rite for a 2006? is it difrent on later models?
June 10, 201016 yr It seems you don't understand the difference between thousandths of an inch and hundredths of a millimetre. Since you say you have the manual which I know explains the setting sequence in simple terms and with photographs, I repeat: If you don't understand this, pay someone who does to do it, it'll be cheaper in the long run.
