hiya ive just bought a gas gas txt / tx not 100% percent sure what the proper model is hopefully you guys can help decifer

vin = VTRGG259808980657

also has gas gas motors sa on the vin plate

from what i was told its a txt 250 model year 1998 but from google etc i dont think there is such a model i 1998 all data ive found says 1998 is a 250 tx confusing as it has stickers etc on tank stating gas gas txt 249

all confusing

im sure its simple enough when you know what your talking about

also have a query on the front disc it seems to be loose as in i can turn it if i grab the disc and move it probably about 5 mm it rotates either way is this normal ive checked all bolts etc and they are all tight there are small collets between the bolt and disc holding it in place all bolts as i said are tight but the disc moves the rear is solid and does not move is this normal ?

The front disc msut have the amount of movement you describe, its a floating disc.

Have a look here, http://www.gasgasmuseum.com/ should be able to identify the year from the pictures.
