hi i have just bought a 94 techno and it sounds rumbly so i want to get all the bearings changed i have got in touch with beta uk for a price and it is 190 for the big end aparently you have to buy the conrod as well does this sound right ?

it sounds very expensive to me

any tips or advise

Gday, this is correct, the bigend comes as a kit with the rod. This may not need replacement but the only wat to know is checking after stripping down. Can you tell us more about the noise in the engine?

thanks for the reply there is a slight tapping noise which i am quite sure is top end and a low constant rumble it doesnt change with revs

Gday, hard to say without hearing it, but I would say maybe main bearings (on the crankshaft) and the tapping noise is probably piston related. My old 99 Techno had a top end noise that never altered, even after a rebuild. Certainly a strip and some mains cant hurt, measure up the rest while its open.I dont think you will need a rod.
