Are technos susceptible to corrosion of the water pump housing by stuff in the coolent?

I've heard this is a problem on the Rev 3s because of the magnesium casings?

My techno is a 97 model if that makes a difference

I have a 94 techno and ive known every one who has had it since it was new. and i have never had a problem with corrosion in my cooling system what so ever. i just had the bike apart too for a winter tune up and no problems at all. I also am using a engine ice coolant because i live in a high heat in summer and very cold winters in the states.
