Techno Clutch Plates

Featured Replies

On my '97 techno, some fiber plates are marked with a 1 and some are marked with a 2. The markings are on the little ears that engage the outer hub. Does this mean anything or denote an assembly order? Second, there is a washer under the inner hub. It looks like a standard hardware washer but I was expecting something surface ground on both sides. Is this correct? (I'm diagnosing a sticking/ dragging issue)

My son has a slightly older version of the techno, a 94, found that when we got the bike the clutch was very snatchy and dragged all the time, stripped it down and cleaned all the plates and changed the oil to a 75w oil, since then the clutch has been perfect, i didnt notice any markings on the clutch plates and just put them back in any order. Dont over fill the oil as well because affects it badly. 500mls is all it needs. If you can try and get the PJ1 oil 75w clutch tuner, its really good.

Hope this helps. Richard
