May 19, 201115 yr Just noticed on my bike that the air box boot doesn’t seem to fit very well I tried my best to get it to fit better but it seems that it needs to be 1/2 inch longer? Is this correct, it has a rubber on the carb about 3/4inch long, which the plastic boot fastens to with a jubilee clip? Edited May 19, 201115 yr by Monty_Jon
May 20, 201115 yr I noticed this, too, in the process of sorting and familiarizing myself with my new (to me) GG. The front spigot on the carb is quite long and can be safely backed out of the manifold a bit...I split the difference.

May 20, 201115 yr There is a fix for this on ebay there is a shop in scarbrough that sell a airbox to carb part that is a half inch longer for just gassers i got 1 for my 280 pro sorted it think its only a tenner if i remember right. hope this helps Andy http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GAS-GAS-PRO-AIR-INTAKE-DUCT-AIRBOX-CARB-/120555262427?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item1c11a751db The machined spigots do a good job of fixing this problem, which unfortunately has been going on for some time. Or, you could get a 2002 airbox boot, which only fits the Dellorto, quite well I might add. The boot was changed in 03' to allow the wider bell VHST to be used, hense the required adapter for the smaller bell PHBL. Jon

May 21, 201115 yr Also, while your here - your swingarm spindle clamp bolts are loose by the looks of things! Worth tightening up as they're part of the casings! Edited May 21, 201115 yr by JamesHail
