My 07 Beta 270 has quite a detonation at medium high RPM and moderate throttle opening, after a long climb it gets a lean lopey idle

Have richened the needle and gone through the carb

Anyone have any tips?

    Use fresh hi octane gas every time.

    Polish the top of the piston and the cylinder head.

    It helped when i had a 270, but it never fully went away.
