New TR34R owner

Featured Replies

I just bought a 1988 TR34R today and had a great time and probably got a little to daring.

I have a few needs for this bike. The front master cylinder leaks a little at the piston. The brake fades unless its continually used. I need a rebuild kit or possibly a replacement. I dont care if it stays original so if anyone knows of a more modern MS that will work, great.

Also the sub frame has a couple breaks. I've been doing some web searches but came up dry. Whats my chances of finding a replacement? I could have this one welded or i considered remaking it myself out of square steel tube. I can fab and weld steel but not aluminum.

I also need to pull the exhaust header off to weld the exhaust bracket and fix the frame by the exhaust bracket. I guess thats a common weak spot. Should i just make my own gasket or use some sort of sealer or both?

Also on the forks. What air pressure should be ran. I may need to add some spacers to change the pre load. I'm 195 lbs and the bike bottoms way to easy. Its going to kill my wrists. Any suspension advice would also be great.

Its a lot but any help would be great.

Thanks in advance.

The first picture is my buddy who i bought the Beta from and thats his Gas Gas upgrade
