Hi anyone point the way to dateing my 348's.

I have one number stamped on the front engine of one machine but the other stamped behind the barrel? both are 51M, was there any change over the model over its lifetime to the engines or can one engines parts be used in the other.

if its def. a 348 ( full cradle frame) nos. started at 51m 11307 - 1976 to 51m 15708 - 1979 . cota 349 1979 51m 15709 .for exact year try sandifords for letter of manufacture / import . may charge for this

Thanks for that, the 348 with the engine number on the front starts 51m 129* the other one with the number at the back of the engine is 51m 160*. These mach up with the frame numbers.

Whats the difference between the standard and the Cota bikes you mention?
