November 2, 201114 yr Fairly new to Montesa world and to 4T world so not entirely sure what the standard plug should look like on examination. I have a Repsol 250 with a single programable body running a Liar Sanz setting, my tick over is pretty standard ( ie: higher than a 2T ) Everytime I have taken the plug out to check it's been sooted up with a fine carbon dust, the bike runs really well and runs out very very clean but could any 4RT gurus tell me should my plug be this colour ? Chris
November 2, 201114 yr I think the Sains map is quiet heavy on fuel hence dark plug. Probably only way to get a true reading is to hold throttle open at 1/4 revs for a min or so and then hit kill button. However I have run std plug on Sains map for several years and now a slightly modified softer Sains map and bike runs fine and plugs last for as long as I want to leave them in. Therefore would say if bike runs well and to your liking and is not using oil don't worry about the plug colour. Just rely on the fact the clever Japs have got it right- I do.
