December 11, 201114 yr Hi everyone my mate asked if i would ask the question as he does'nt have the internet.We were at the trial today on second lap when his 4rt started to play up,it would tick over & run on low revs but when you tried to rev it hard it just bog'd down & would'nt rev.So we went back to van & put a new sparkplug in it sorted until we got half way round then the same happend again.Anybody had this problem & how did you rectify it.Cheers
December 11, 201114 yr Possible 2 option off the top of my head 1) tickover too low 2) Fuel pump on way out -hope its tickover. What year bike is it?
December 11, 201114 yr 4rt's have a 'limp home mode' when the engine is overheating the ECU will shut down the performance. you can only rev a little then it will cut out run terrible. It will run perfectly on low revs to get you back to the van. The symptoms Bunny described sounded like a plug today but now reading this it's more likely to have been running too hot. when the engine was off to have the plug changed it cooled down enough to run properly again. Tell him to try turning the engine off in quesues in future
December 12, 201114 yr yesterday was pretty cold at butsfield has he checked the coolant recently and is the cooling fan working ?
