Hey guys I broke the bleed nipple off flush trying to renew my fluid. I'm holding off reverse drilling the old nipple out until I have a replacement bleeder and I can't wait for a replacement AJP/GasGas nipple to arrive in the mail. I'm in the USA.

Question - does anyone know if I find an off brand nipple with the same width and thread pitch - will the seat bevel match up? Have any of you tried this before?

Before yo reverse drill = which does not always work consider getting a nut welded onto the sheared off nipple. You need someone wih TIG to build up a lump on the sheared of nipple then drop an M10 nut onto the lump and weld the lup to inside of nut. Usually nipple then unscrews dead easy.

try a stud removing screw with some heat first drilling tends to veer off and start drilling into the soft alloy of the caliper . it doesnt need to be a bleed nipple u replace it with .a bolt with a fibre or copper washer will do the same job

I think a auto shop or a specialist brake shop will have the bleed nipple. Try getting the snapped one out with a easyout. Thats what they are called here, your local bike shop can help.They are special removers for trials riders who snap stuff off Good luck

I had this problem,which I solved by fitting a brake hose banjo bolt with a bleed nipple in it,sourced off ebay.You can leave the remains of the old nipple in place,it won't leak as it's still tight.Was easy to bleed too,saved a lot of grief

Thanks for the replies guys! Here's what I did. Reverse drill with increasing diameter bits being careful not to drill deeper than 7mm. It did back out with the biggest bit - when I had about 0.5 mm wall left.

I found a 6mm x 1.0 pitch out of the bin at the auto parts store for $0.81. It works great but is long. I suppose I will replace it later with a real replacement. Bottom line is the seats may be universal.

PS - I didn't want to risk an ez-out as I thoughtit would expand the metal into the treads and make it more difficult. I used a reverse drill bit set from harbor freight - purchase price $7.99.
