January 21, 201214 yr Hi all,I have a 2010 300 4t i am having problems with the clutch.the problem is when the engine is cold the clutch doesn't work ie put it in gear and its away on its own.Now I've had the gear return spring snap which i think is caused by this problem.The clutch mod has been done by a previous owne.can anyone help pleaser

I assume that, like my Beta, the clutch clears eventually. The way to speed this up is to push the bike off with a foot as you put it in to gear with the clutch lever in then change up the box, holding the lever in all the time; when you get to fourth the clutch will free and you should be OK after that. January 21, 201214 yr mine did that !! i changed the oil to mobil 1 15/50 motorcycle oil, was fine once that was done allways warmed the bike up before i rode it, good luck
January 21, 201214 yr change oil brand, to one for 4t mx engines. before re filling with new oil remove the clutch plates and clean all the old oil off. lastly when you finish riding pull the clutch lever in and hold it back with an elastic band, do this while the engine is hot. following week no sticking problems.
January 21, 201214 yr That old chestnut! Yes, both my Rev 4t and now my '11 Evo 4t have done it. But only when cold. Get the thing properly warmed through before selecting gear and it's fine.
January 21, 201214 yr just do the clutch mod pinned to top of the Beta forum. It fixes it. Done It does but not if you leave the bike for weeks and weeks between uses.
January 23, 201214 yr Author well think i've got it sorted.had to wait a while for the selector spring to come.all the clutch plates were stuck together i washed them and it looked like a greasy film on them is this from the oil?
