Airbox To Seat Unit Fixings

Featured Replies

i have a 2006 gas gas txt pro. i have noticed that most of the fixings that attach the airbox to the seat unit have snapped of (they are torx screws screwed into a plastic threaded thing). This can leave a gap down the side and into the airbox. i have glued them back on before with a strong glue and put silicone between the joint but they have snapped off again i just wondered if anyone else had had this problem and if there are any solutions. thanks.

It is not usual for these to snap off, must have taken quite a knock. Only solution is to buy a new seat base.

Bye, PeterB.

I just did a temporary fix for this problem (until his new seat unit arrives) for a clubmember two days ago. I sealed the seat to the lower base with a generous application of Silicone and let it set up for a day. An issue you might want to check is your shock preload if the damage was not caused by a strong hit to the side. Our rider's shock retaining collar had backed off enough that the back tire slammed up against the rear of the box on a big drop-off.
