Hi we've been having problems selecting the gears on the bike, a friend of mine says it's the tophat and it's happened to his,

does anyone know where there's any information (i.e like in a manual) out there, might have a go myself

I'm not sure they may be related. What are the exact symptoms and under what conditions?

hi thanks for reply, sometimes we can't seem to get the gears , think the weld might have fractured on the 'tophat' located somewear behind the clutch basket

If the weld broke loose, you would not be able to engage any gears, so I doubt that is the problem.

I'd try adjusting the "centering spring" (it's part of the tophat assembly) and see if that solves the

problem.

yes, don't think it's broke yet but possibly cracked and will go caput eventually, hoping it'll stay together for the trial on sunday, daren't practise on saturday, then hopefully get it done next week
