Can someone tell me the benefits of fitting a stiffer rear sping than on standard shock ??

I'm guessing they are set up for around approx 12 stone rider, when I'm 15 stone, so considering a stiffer spring, but, what benefit does it bring ??

    its more boingy.

    it transfers weight to the front.

    it stops the rear bottoming out as much.

    rear reaction is increased.

    less grip in slippy conditions.

    that said if your not suffering any symptoms of poor handling why bother?
