March 30, 201214 yr I've been looking at purchasing an ohlins for the rear of my 2011 evo. Something i've noticed a fair few people do. -Are they worth the money, will it give me more adjustability? -What is the difference between the gold and silver versions apart from colour? Thanks Hugh
March 30, 201214 yr Defo, the gold bodies are the newer models, silver models could be a few years old but if they have been overhauled, be good as new. Some suppliers sell with a standard spring, if you want a harder spring, an additional £80.00 of anyones money. Good luck, you wont look back.
March 30, 201214 yr definetly better,depends on how good/rich you are whether its worth spending the money,The standard shock's good enough for most,but benefits from a heavier spring from sxs if you're 13 stone +
April 1, 201214 yr Do they fit a 2007 rev 3? How much and from where? My shock is weeping oil as I am keeping the bike longterm I might consider an Ohlins damper.

April 1, 201214 yr A few of you has said its better, but have not said why. What makes it better, does it have slower or faster damping? Is it lighter? Do they last longer between overhauls? Please elaborate..
April 2, 201214 yr Damping takes a big hit better,and is more plush with better feel on the smaller stuff.Damping is adjustable,make as slow or fast as you like.Better build quality,maybe slightly lighter
