Clutch Cover Leaking - Crack On Case Why ?

Just popped out on the bike for an hour and noticed I have a crack on the casing very close to the kickstart shaft..

Does anyone know what would case this ? dont want to buy a new case and then crack another case...as they are 90 quid a time..

any advice help would be appreciated

Had same problem on gas gas 280 cracked from shaft to clutch cover bolt,hell of a job to weld as they r alloy/magnesium,think its down to wear on quadrant/pinion give Trials UK a ring they will advise you.
