Factory Bike Mods At Wtc

Featured Replies

A few cool modifications I noticed whilst having a browse over the bikes at the WTC in Potugal and Spain, if anyone's interested. There's probably a shed load of stuff you cant see as well.

Gas Gas

Raga's bike had a reduced cappacity flat fuel tank.

Raga's had a longer front pipe on.

All WTC bikes had the magnesium alloy crank cases.

Raga's had clear handlebar grips with the Gas Gas logo underneath, very cool!

Carbon fibre front lights.

Raga's frame looked to be a slightly different shape too, but not 100% sure on that one.

Beta

Kenny had some very nice Michelin fork protectors with like a burnt/scorched effect near the bottom.

James Dabill's had black yokes and barrel.

Sherco

Prototype Paoli forks on Cabo's bike with black sliders.

Vented seat area on rear fender.

Keihin flatslide carb.

Loris Gubian's 125 had a polished barrel an sounded more like a 290.

Montesa

Flat petrol tanks on Doug's, Fuji's and Freixa's bikes.

315 style front Showa forks.

I was told the engines are increased cc but exactly what I'm not sure.

Also told the ECU is mapped completely differently to the production bikes and Fuji's is mapped differently to the other two's.

Carbon front mudgaurd braces.

Fibre glass/carbon silencer covers.

Scorpa

More of those cool Michelin fork protectors.

Straight rear muguards.

Im very interested, I love looking at the factory bikes in all motorcycle sports! I got a soft spot for anything that is/looks trick!

Cant wait to have a butchers at some of the top lads bikes at Hawkstone!

Now thats the sort of info and pictures should be in TMX.

As both Dicko and Eric Kitchen were there one wonders why this sort of article doesn,t appear.

Adam, the fork guards you saw are titanium and look the dogs B*****ks !

Hi guys

just been looking at the top trials web site and the home page looks to have James Dabill on an 04 beta, don`t know if I`am seeing things but it looks to have a right hand kickstart and gearshifter and left hand chain/sprockets and exhaust.

i`m sure one of you guys out there will know the answer,

www.toptrialteam.it

cheers

Why do the factory monts have the old 315 showa forks? arent the new ones on the 4rt supossed to be better?

yeh andy there will be scouts out looking on sites like this for what we want in or think should have been in  lol

Some of the top riders (Gas Gas - dunno about others!) cut off their foot rests and hav 'em welded further back!!

The factory 4RT's have modified frame geometry aswell, the engine is further back to bring centre of gravity rearward, presumably so it's kinda more comfortable on the back wheel.

Did you notice whether RAGAs bike had an Ohlins on at all!?

Didn't get close enough to it with the airbox/plastics off to look, but I did forget to mention Cabo's Sherco had very stylish rims; the central ridge was anodized/painted black with the outer part still silver, very cool!

Yeah that does look good! the only problem with having your rims powder coated/anodized is that if you scratch them (which is easy) they look s**t!

yes adam raga does have the ohlins shock on his bike

Raga's bike also appears to have a completely different set of forks on it, as well the two hoses that exit from the water pump appear to cross over and head off in different directions to the stock bike- maybe different cylinder and or radiator - anyone else notice this

Yep  Different Radiator. Forks are the same 40mm Morzocchi's just coated black
