July 15, 201214 yr Hi all, just changed from on 04 txt pro 125 to an 06 300, I can't even start it lol. I could kick the old one up no probs but this monster just has too much compression. It's OK if I lean on a tree but could be a big problem in q trial, any tips?
July 15, 201214 yr There is a video on the tou tube on how to do this easily. I used to struggle too until I watched this and started using this technique. Good luck.
July 15, 201214 yr Here is the video. I balance the bike, lift my body then come down on the lever with my body weight. Takes some practice but once you get it, it's easy. Watch, rewind and rewatch his body when he starts it while standing up. http://www.youtube.c...bed/QdM4qkAqywk Edited July 15, 201214 yr by razorback
July 16, 201214 yr I notice they (Gas Gas) have not made a 'how-to' for starting a Pro which is probably more crucial than a 'how-to' for starting any previous model (which didn't have the KS pawl/gear problem)??
July 16, 201214 yr The use the stand up and drop weight method which works great on my 2011 pro 300. When I first got it, I stood on the ground and used leg strength to start it which didn't turn the motor over very fast. Using body weight spins it much faster.
July 16, 201214 yr i do that method in the video too. i used to have hell starting my 280 before i adopted that method.
