July 29, 201214 yr Can anyone tell me what problems are caused on the Beta Rev 3 if the head gasket has. Trying to eliminate a few problems with mine.
July 29, 201214 yr I suppose it could pressurise the coolant? Have you searched on hear for it? Or trials bike in general....
July 29, 201214 yr One of 3 things happens 1 You get engine compression leaking into the cooling jacket, this will blow coolant if excessive and you will also get oil and carbon etc in the coolant,, usually pretty obvious 2 Coolant leaks into the combustion chamber, this means low coolant and white smoke from the exhaust, also condensation on the plug and combustion chamber when the engine is cold 3 Simply a weeping gasket that pushes coolant out and dribbles it down the cylinder If its possible to pressure test the cooling system always do it when the engine is hot, there is a lot of thermal expansion and it happens at different rates as the engine warms, there may be no problems when the engine is cold
July 29, 201214 yr Author To resolve my problem i think the answer is to change the head gasket anyway and check and change all oil seals also change the radiator cap incase the pressure release is not working and also flush the oil and cooling system to remove any unwanted debris. Fingers crossed thats all i need from a bike that was bought 2 days ago. Thanks for the help very much appreciated
