August 6, 201214 yr Hello iv had my rev 3 for a few months now and just doing some of the mods to the carb like brass tang level and changing the breather pipes. I would like to know of there is a good set up for the uk I have a 150 main and 30 small is this ok or is there a better setup for the uk. Also how many turns out on the fixture screw would it be if I changed to a prefered setup. Many thanks Darren
August 7, 201214 yr It'll depend on a lot of other things as well such as altitude and temperature. You should be able to get the info if you email Lapkins for a general set up (jets). You can fine tune it then with the needle and mixture screw.
August 7, 201214 yr We used 27.5 & 145 jets in Rev3. Just do the flat tangs mod & the mikuni works well enough.
August 7, 201214 yr Author Hello if I changed my main and pilot to 27.5 and 145 what should I expect the bike to react like from the standard 150 30 setup Cheers
August 7, 201214 yr Author Would this make it more crisp off the throttle or should I just leave it as it is as I wouldn't make much difference Cheers
August 7, 201214 yr Trials an tribulations do a jet kit. Made a big difference. Needle jet and needle wears too so I changed the lot. Runs leaner so I changed for a cooler plug. Works for me.
August 8, 201214 yr "I would like to know of there is a good set up for the uk" Why would one presume the UK carb set up is different?
August 16, 201214 yr Well Billy, according to Jeremy Clarkson we're fatter in the US (he's right of course) so we probably need to run a bit richer. I'm assuming this is a 250/270? If so a 27.5 pilot runs cleaner on the bottom and gives a crisper transition to the midrange but will also accentuate any lean pinging you get from low octane fuel.
