August 26, 201214 yr Hi, I wonder if someone can help please? The chain came off my lads 125 and locked up the gearbox, at the same time the kick-start spring snapped. It then became almost impossible to select gears due to being very tight. Initial strip down revealed no problem with the selector mechanism, hoping to find the piece of spring causing the problem. Further strip down of the gearbox revealed nothing obvious. Will try a dry assemble, but wondered if anyone has had a similar problem? Dave

Dave I cannot really think of anything but possibly a bent selector(lever) shaft making the thing stiff. Not quite sure just how a kicker spring is directly related to the chain off, yet were the pieces recovered? If you don't have some luck, I would possibly consider Splatshop Chris to give it a look (not sure where you are located), not that much to post it off anyway!
September 2, 201214 yr Author Many thanks copemech. All seems to have gone back together OK and so far so good. I did find a tiny piece of kickstart spring whilst cleaning the cases, so hoping this was the culprit. Dave
