1982 Montesa Cota 349 Mk4 fitted with a Mikuni VM round slide carb.

Has anyone got such a bike fitted with this carb. as I amm looking to find out what jets, jet needle, throttle valve settings work best as I am having a few problems getting the bike to run well.

The bike starts first or second kick from cold and after a little while will idle nicely. up to 1/4 throttle seems good but after that I am having some problems.

The carb. has been fitted with a 5F3 needle but most of the stuff on the internet seems to suggest that a 5F21 is the standard needle for this carb.

Any help or advice much appreciated.

    If it can be of any help, here is what I have in the Mikuni VM26 on my Cota 348.

    Needle - 5F21

    Slide - 2.5

    Main jet - 130

    Needle jet - 182 N8

    Pilot jet - 35

    Air jet 0.5
