Hi all i`m new to the forum just found it when i done an internet search,anyway i decided to buy a gas gas txt 300 2006 model to do a bit of trials riding on but unfortunately i blew it up as the water pump seal had failed and filled the gearbox with water then it overheated....i have since repaired it by replacing the piston and rings and having the cylinder repaired....it is now back up and running but seems to be overheating...the fan is working but i might just be paranoid ....the second bike i got my son as he said he`d like a go at trials as a break from mx so i got him the 125 txt pro 2005 which nearly completed a trial until it deciced it will not start i assumed it was a bad plug so i changed it and it ran for a while but now it won`t i have put another new plug in and gone through the wiring and found no problems there, the bike is sparking is full of fresh fuel but still will not start any ideas..........going off the gas gas model straight away seem to be nothing but money pits

May I suggest that you break this into 2 seperate threads? Trying t keeop track of inputs and replies on 2 bikes might becme very confusing for everyone. Thanks

Surely you knew that the bike was running rough prior to it blewing up. Dont knock the brand as its 6 and 7 years old bikes that you should know from Mx back ground to keep an eye on things.

Most common non starting is carb usually dirt in the carb, then poor connections and remove fly wheel cover n check its clean and dry.

Naturally all bikes age and have issues and what you buy.

I do think that overheating due to whatever reason is hardley a reason to blame the brand, ok the pump seal may have gone unnoticed(have you replaced seal and shaft????) but when a bike runs rough its always best to stop and investigate.

Does the 125 have a kehin or a dellorto what plug is in it?

you cant buy two old bikes and then blame Gas Gas for unreliability issues.
