Because I don't have a welder to hand I found a simple solution (don't know how long it will last but....) I took a large washer and filed a straight edge either side and knocked it up behind where the back of the peg touches the frame. Took a couple of attempts to get a tight fit but now both my pegs are sat straight!

If they drop out at some point then I've only lost 2 washers but all the time I'm on the pegs they're never gonna move!
