Hello, can any one recommend any thing to de coke an exhaust, the Header/down pipe of my 280 in choked with carbon, i can scrap a lot any with a scrrew driver but need some thing to reach round the bend.

I've found 6 days riding round Scotland has done wonders for de-coking my bike.

get a bendy bit of metal and scrape it round the bend, then get a power washer and blast it all out. then make sure all the water is out before you put back on your bike

8" to 10" length of twisted steel cable fitted into a drill chuck. Untwist/fray the other end to make a swirling mass of skin/flesh remover and *carefully* insert into the front pipe.

Ideally, the pipe should be in a vice so that you don't have to worry about visiting the A&E department of your local hospital

A safer method (provided you don't drink the caustic soda) is to pour some caustic soda into the pipe and chuck in some small(ish), sharp(ish) stones, seal the ends and shake like crazy.

It was a friend of my uncle that told the neighbours daughter's boyfriend who delivers our morning paper

For Kinell the decoke method of preference appeared to be falling off and leaving the bike spinning round in circles on full throttle for a few minutes.

Costic soda.

Block off one end, pour it in, leave over night
