Exhaust Centre Box On Txt Pro '04

Featured Replies

Anyone have any ideas on how to stregthen and repair the brackets on the centre box on the 04 exhaust. The top one on mine has broken twice after being repaired once before with an alu weld. The bottom one has also broke.

Or is anyone selling any steel ones on the cheap?!?

Cheers

Thanks for that, i'll see if i can get that done!

Another quick question, if i may...While riding the Manx 2 Day last year the bolts on my rear chainwheel worked their way lose and decided to take a big chunk out of my swing arm. The swing arm hasn't been any problem throughout the time since the 2Day but would it be better if the gap was filled or is best to buy a whole new swingarm??

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

I had exactly the same problem a few weeks back. The top mounting bracket had completely broken off! I got the bracket re-welded and over emphasised the amount of weld but on reassembly I had to grind most of it away for it to fit as snug as it did origionally. Not sure how long it is going to last this time but if it goes again I think there is more room on the inside of the bracket to put a stronger weld just under the spacer sleeve.Hopefully I won't need to do it though ;)
