Ty 175 Coil

Featured Replies

The LT coil on my TY comprises two coils mounted together, one above the other, this one being a lot smaller than the other. The manual shows only the larger one and this seems to match what I have seen advertised as a source coil. Has someone perhaps modified mine or is the standard setup different to what is shown in the manual?

I had a TY175 for a while. It had a single large coil. I bought a new coil at one point. It was also a single coil. Sounds like someone may have modified yours.

OOPS, I missed your note that you were asking about the LT coil. I was speaking of the HT coil. DUH!

My Ty 175 had the 2 coils together, these are the lighting coils. the smaller one is the lighting coil for the tail light and the larger one is for the head light. These coils are at the 9:00 o'clock postion and the large coil at the 3:00 o'clock postion is the ing. coil

I could be wrong but I believe the larger lighting coil is for supplying power to both the headlight and taillight. The smaller lighting coil was for the taillight BRAKELIGHT function.
