What I'm wondering is with the decreased income due to these cancellations is it likely that costs will rise especially insurances to cover shortfalls?

I'm not suggesting anyone makes much money from events but I imagine someone will be losing out.

There were far worse cancellations with foot and mouth with no rise in costs

Also another issue regarding lost monies due to cancellation is the dreaded MSA, as this has to be paid prior to a road trial or has it changed?

You pay the MSA before, but get a refund if cancelled due to bad weather or such. I will most likely find out how it works in the not too distant future. :'(

I know you are less cconcerned than once you might have been with SACU matters but, had you been at the SACU AGM, you would have heard that the weather and other factors reducing numbers of entries will, in effect, lead to raised insurance costs for the rider. However, the Union is taking steps to mitigate this.

on a plus note every cancellation means I'm £30 up every weekend at the moment.
