I am now continuing the

Out of my 83 240 pro's owners manual.

' primary drivewith helical gears Z-21/71 ratio 1:3.38 secondary drive with chain 5/8"x 1/4" Z-12/39 ratio 1: 3.35.

Mine has a 11 tooth countershaft and 39 rear, and it fairly close ratio thru 6th , which of course is1:0.70 overdrive.

I'm changing the final drive on mine down to about 1:4.00 or 1: 4.20.

I'm old and slow though!!!...

I am a vintage rider on a vintage scoot, so I tend toward the slow side too! If I might impose upon your willingness to share information just a bit further, how do you "feel" about the "gap" between 1st and 2nd? Would you like 2nd to be "closer" to 1st? Or possibly "farther" from 1st? Or maybe you like it just fine? Thanks.
