May 30, 201313 yr hi any advice on what weight oil will suit my ty175 just had forks re ground /chromed all new seals but not sure whats best as been reading on here and it varies from atf to 10w3o im also a porker at 15st lol any advice appreciated
May 30, 201313 yr I would stick to the 126cc 10/30, atf would be far too thin a oil for your forks, more so with your weight.i had no problems with the standard set up on my ty 175,and i'm nearly 16 stone. But my ty long gone, wish i had it back sometimes, lol Edited May 30, 201313 yr by bilks
May 30, 201313 yr I use 130ml of 10's weight fork oil in each leg. The action is a reasonable compromise at that, I'm 12 stone and can bottom them out fairly easily. I have added a 10mm spacer under the fork cap, using the best springs I had (from a selection of three sets) I'm toying with the idea of some new springs, and maybe making up some 12.5 weight oil to slow it down just a tad.
